Scrapbooking
There are few hobbies I truly dislike to do but scrapbooking is something I truly do not enjoy. Come on, who really enjoys cutting itty bitty pieces of paper, and gluing those pieces together and then coming up with cutesy phrases, it's really all too much for me. But the other problem is I have all these pictures from our wedding and my mission that I would really like to scrapbook, so I have decided to do some online photobooks, I would really like to try the online scrapbooking but I don't know where to start on that. But as of right now I highly recommend shutterfly. And when I am finished with our wedding album I will be sure to share it with ya'll.

I never win
Until TODAY. I have seriously given up on putting my name in for drawings and entering contests. But last week Derek and I were at one of our favorite local shops Pop the Soda Shop . They have the widest variety of sodas I have ever seen and everyone there is super knowledegeable of the sodas so they can always recommend something good. But I am not going to lie I do have my favorites. Anyway so we were there wednesday night buying some pops to take over to the in-laws casa and while we were there they were having some kind of raffle, I didn't know what for nor did I care, I just wanted to win something so I quickly scribbled my name and info down and completly forgot about it. Until today I recieved an email that said
"Hello Domanique,
Wow! What more could a girl ask for? Well, frankly I didn't even know what a Cream Whip was, but I was so excited I jumped up and down I yelled and I called Derek. So Derek's family came over for dinner and what goes better with pizza but soda, so we drove over to Pop, to pick up my prize and some soda, and I did some research and I am so stoked to have my very own whipper, essentially it makes whipped cream and other light and airy desserts. So I never win anything... until now.
"Hello Domanique,
You are the winner of the iSi Profi Cream Whip. Stop by and pick it up.
Congratulations!

Cakery
Oh how I love cakes and i have wanted to take classes, well the day is finally here. I have begun my classes and sure my cakes would qualify for Cake Wrecks I am still learning and have a long time till my cakes can actually be sold rather than just handed out at work. Someday I will have a beautiful little bakery and cakery but until that day has arrived I can reflect on how far I have come.

Why
Why is it November and we still have the aircondioner on? Some may say this is a good thing. But frankly 90 degrees is not fall weather. I just want to eat grilled cheese and tomotao soup and wear a sweater. Is that too much to ask?

I think I am addicted
I personally absolutely LOVE blogger, so much so that I feel I have an addiction. The sad part is I am not so much addicted to blogging, but I am addicted to keeping up on millions of blogs. I watch 57 blogs to be exact and only about 15 of them are friends. The rest are either photography, cakes, crafts, cooking, and the latested add on was makeup. Do you think they have groups for addicts of such a type ;) You should also check out a few of the fun blogs I keep up with, they are pretty cool!

Battered and Fried
For work today, I had the amazing opportunity to go to the Arizona State Fair. Talk about a blast, we were only there for two hours, but it was well worth it. My client, (I work with adults with disabilites and she is such a handful that I only have one client) was all over the place and almost had multiple heart attacks because she was so excited. I only rode one ride a water roller coaster. Where they put me in the front and apparently in the front you look like you pee your pants in the end, but since we live in the wonderful Arizona I was dry with in a few hours. Well, the whole point of this entry was to tell you about what I wanted to do and tell you what I ended up doing at the state fair. I had read in local newspaper that they were selling fried scorpions, and Derek requested I would bring him one home. I eventually thought that I would like to try one myself, so I was commited to getting two. The entire time I searched for fried scorpions, I even had the owner of the company looking for them for me. He eventually found them for me, and they were sold out till tuesday! Can you believe that sold out of scorpions! Who does that? So I had to settle for second best, a fried snickers. That might I say was phenomenoal! I even decided to share with you a recipe and since the food network never lets me down I figured they would be the best place to find one. So please enjoy as much as I did!

Fall is here
and so are halloween preperations. As of right now, this is as far as my ideas have gotten.
What do you think? It would be so much fun to get a yellow rain jacket and rainboots and be Coraline or just be Rosie and get a red bandanna and and denim shirt. Hmmm... both are so tempting.

Gym
Derek and I got a gym membership this last month. I love it, I feel so healthy while at the gym. But in all reality I don't care about healthy I just want to look like the girls that wear the sports bras and booty shorts and look good. Is that too much to ask?

My summer...
Remember in grade school when you would have to write the dreaded, "what I did this summer..." paper. Okay maybe you didn't but I thought it would be fun to write one, okay maybe not write but depict my fully fun blasted summer. (I just wish I had more pictures) Here we go...
Derek and I took a handful of road trips down to Tucson and Casa Grande. Those was the days before we had air conditioning, it was pretty tough.
One day we woke up drove down to Tucson, and hung out with Derek's sister and her family. Then we drove back up to the valley and went to a D-backs game. (this was still in the days of no air conditioning) It was a bummer cause we were an hour late and got their during the 5th inning, but we were blessed to have a concert after wards.
Who could ask for a better post concert than Lifehouse. They did a stinking good job, even better than I remember as a kid.
We went to quite a few diamondback games, we are with them through thick and thin. No fair weather fans in our house!
We love to feed people so we had friends and family over to eat, even when we didn't have seating.
We were always really cozy even if it was warm outside.
We even celebrated our two month wedding anniversary, (the same day as National Chocolate Milk Day) with some good amigos.
We took a road trip all the way to Georgia to see Michael graduate from basic training.(doesn't he look so grown up)
We truly are so proud of him. I swear that is one of the best looking families I have ever seen.
And to get to the airport from Fort Bening we had to get quite cozy in our little mini van. (Doesn't mom look so happy in that little corner)
Like I said we had to get real cozy.
Michael even fell asleep on Derek's shoulder. (tender)
We even celebrated the twins 18th birthday at a Diamondback game.
Then it was my day to celebrate yet another birthday. 24 here I come! Derek woke me up at 610 in the morning to give me my first gift, Grimms Complete Fairy Tales. And give me an absolutely awesome homemade card.
And he even surprised me a with a fabulous birthday gift that I never saw coming.
June, Derek's mom, even took us to Famous Dave's BBQ for my birthday!
Well, that is about all I have for my photo illustration of my summer. Minus the parts where I show you wedding pictures and honeymoon pictures (I showed you honeymoon pics, but it'll be awhile till I show you wedding pictures, my dvd player on my computer isn't working)
pictures
okay so i lied to you there are no pictures in this post, but I really want to post pictures and I hate how blogger uploads them out of order, how do i add pictures in the order I want?

After three weeks of living in our new casa we finally have internet. Thank goodness. I can finally get on my computer without the fear of getting kicked off and with the capability to download all my shows I have missed for the last three weeks. And I can keep you updated with the exciting happenings of my life.

90 Days
I had my 90 day review today at work and it made me so happy, my supervisor showed me the performance review sheet to show me where she placed me on the list. She marked me on the second from highest one. Her reasoning for not putting me on the highest was "I don't want the company to be suspicious of your awesomeness and I want you to have something to work on next year". Well that just about sums up my love for my job.

I promised
I should be packing, or reading, or doing laundry so we have clothes this weekend for our cabin trip, but alas I am doing nothing, just surfing the net & vegging. So I figured I would at least say I am doing nothing rather than post nothing at all. All because I promised ;)

YAY!
So we're getting a new car (03 civic), I got transferred (to a much better site with much better people and getting paid a little bit more), and I'm reading two amazing new books at one time (pride and prejudice and les miserables)

Pretty un-sweet!
My job is making a whole lot of changes and I don't like them one bit. I can't wait till they transfer me.
I got rear ended today, the dipstick hit me and ran. If I ever see a white guy with blonde hair looks kinda of jock-ish, and drives a pretty new black scion I am gonna punch him.
My day could have been worse.

Reunited with cheap!
So I pretty much have the best job ever, I get paid to go shopping, the movies, swimming and so many other really cool places. Well this last week we went to TJ Maxx and Ross, growing up I hated those stores. I hate picking through stuff and not finding anything I loved. I felt like when I would fins something I liked it would be the wrong size etc. Well, when we were there for work I fell in love with cheap. Since we're poor and don't have a lot of money to spend I realized I need to be frugal and I need to figure out how to better spend our money. Well, I also realized I did enjoy the amazing prices and getting more bang for my buck. So I was reunited with cheap and don't think I will be able to spend full price for much any more.

Whatcha gonna do
So I went into work today and they started asking for people that would want to go home because we were overstaffed. Well I thought long and hard about how much fun it would be to go home and be with the Mr. (tuesdays are his day off from work, but he has to study so it's not all that fun.) I knew that I couldn't afford to come home from work, I dont make very much so every day sent home is a bad idea. So I kept my hand from volunteering. Sad part is so did everyone else, so our supervisor had to send people home, and guess who was sent home in that group... yours truly! I was so bummed. But a bummer annoucement ment I got to come home and do all the things I need to do ie laundry, dishes, clean the bathroom, write my brother (he's in the army, if you want I'll give ya'll the address he's in basic right now and can sure use some letters.) Anyway, I had a lot to do. So I call Derek and he finally swings by to pick me up at the eslingers, we checked out some apartments (I really don't like apartment hunting) and then made some grilled cheese together. He then suggested we watch Harry Potter, (you see I have never seen all the movies I am avid about the books but refused to see the movies so we splurged and bought 2 & 3 at cosco last week so I can catch up) So we watched Harry Potter, ate popcorn and cut out his flash cards, folded the dreaded laundry and now i am on trying to update everyone on how swell ny was it's been quite the day off, so much done! I think I deserve a pat on the back or maybe even a frozen hot chocolate. Okay, now that I have completely updated on my day I will give you some fun NY pictures and tell some fun stories. Here we go....

It's official
I really need to work on my blogging skills and most definitely need to update pictures from my most righteous honeymoon! Because I will be the first to tell you that a. my husband is amazing and b. NY was wonderful. Its just every time I go to add pictures snapfish deletes them, and then my internet only works upstairs so until that problem is solved I will continue to slack off on my blogging and facebooking. But I do love you!

We are so grateful for all the friends and family that made it! It was a blast, the decorations were beautiful, and tell you what once the DJ finally showed up we had a blast shaking it!

My guilty pleasure and my aching shoulder
I don't start work until 2pm so I pretty much all day to get stuff done for the wedding like bridesmaid skirts and return stuff that I have bought that we don't need. But I always find myself vegging, and watching one of the many versions of CSI, or Law and Order. But yesterday I was flipping through channels and I found it, I found the show Kelc and B used to make fun of me for watching, and I don't know why I like it, it's not the classiest of shows, and I don't come away with some new found knowledge it's just a stupid reality T.V. show, Keeping up with the Kardashians. My guilty pleasure, I just felt I needed to expose myself.
Onto story number two, at my job I do a ton of moving around and lifting and I am always all over the place just like the kids I work with. I love it! Anyway, yesterday I did something bad, I mean real bad, somehow I messed up my shoulder, I can't lift my arm above shoulder level, there is this unbelievable pain that happens when I try to change my shirt or put my hair up. And the worst part is I don't even know what I did wrong, but it hurts so bad!

Why
Why do people not RSVP? I truly don't get it, I don't know how much food to plan for, I don't know if I should just not get enough food for the luncheon, and say you didn't RSVP no food for you. (I would feel like the soup nazi, but right I guess it's better than bridezilla.

One Year!!
So I thought I would take a break from wedding stuff and realize I have been home from the mission for ONE YEAR today!! There are so many things I can reflect on, either the things I learned on the mission, what I have learned since I have been back, the blessings on the mission, or even the blessings of serving my mission. Let's start with 10 things I learned while on the mission.
1. The church is so true
2. The Book of Mormon really is the best book I have ever read
3. Things are going to work out
4. If you wait around for the blessings they are never going to come, but if you get your butt out the door and do something the Lord is gonna pour on the blessings
5. Riding a bike in a skirt with wind is like riding a bike with a parachute behind you
6. You are with someone to learn from them, not just for you to teach them
7. Obedience really is the price
8. In all things you have to work hard and play hard
9. The tears, blood, sweet and pain was worth it, and it always will be
10. To love those around you can be the easiest for some and the hardest for others and those others end up being your best friends
9 Things I have learned since I have been back
1. The Book of Mormon is still true
2. Being a missionary without a tag isn't that hard, but I just wish I could see people get further than just the contact
3. Riding a bike is way easier without a skirt
4. Best friends really are always there for you
5. Try everything, don't fear anything, and you really are going to get through it (that could have been three bullet points but why not when I have learned so much)
6. If you want to change you can
7. Sometimes the things we think we live for, we can survive without
8. Tears are still healed by hugs
9. Love really does come when your least expecting it ;)
8 Blessings while on the mission
1. Amazing friends
2. Watching the gospel touch peoples lives
3. I always had food in the fridge and a roof over my head
4. Watching the gospel change my life
5. My testimony has never been stronger, I feel like I am always striving to strengthen it to be as strong as it was or even greater
6. The Lord does fill your mouth with the words you need
7. The Lord fills your heart with the love you need
8. I grew to be who I am now
7 Blessings that affect me now from serving a mission
1. A greater desire to study the scriptures than ever
2. A Better understanding of prayer
3. An even greater understanding of MY purpose in life
4. I have met some amazing people that are such great examples of faith
5. I know who I am and I know God's plan ;)
6. I can ride a bike for long distances
7. My Fiance is absolutely amazing

Work it
Things are really working out, I have finished school. I am looking into hair school or esthetician school. I get married in less than 18 days! We passed our temple recommend test ;) I was real worried about that one. I am accomplishing the overwhelming task of making bridesmaid skirts, that are going to be oh so cute. But alas I still have a to do list let's see what I need to do:
_Order flowers
_Finish bridesmaid skirts
_FIND groomsmen ties (Derek was supposed to be on top of this one but he felt the need to delegate it to me, go figure)
_Figure out what we are serving at the luncheon
And I think that is it. But if there is more, I will most likely add it.

Who's ghetto? I'm ghetto!
That's right ladies and gents, I am officially ghetto. You are probably asking why. Well, let me tell you a little story, so it was Monday night and I went to turn on my laptop, shortly after I turned it on it shut off. There wasn't even a warning like "hey, I'm shutting off now", nope nothing of a the sort. The screen went blank and it was off and it wouldn't turn back on. Well in case you didn't know it is finals week, not the week for my computer to be dying. And I am trying to plan a wedding here, and my entire life is on my laptop. So I called up a good friend and asked him to look at it, he said the fan had died and that it was overheating. Since my computer is only about nine months old, I remembered that it was still under warranty, so I quickly search through all my boxes because I am trying to pack my things to move home next Thursday. And I find the warranty, well I talk to some guy in India, who wasn't helping me at all. After telling him three times that my computers fan is broken he finally understands what I am saying and says they will send a box to me and I will send them my computer to replace it. So until then I had to rig my laptop so that I can use it. Well this is what my little set up looks like.
What do you think? I have my blow dryer set on the cool setting and it is blowing where the fan should be, you also can't see the book that is keeping my laptop propped up so that the cool air can get to it. I think I should be all fine and dandy till my blow dryer overheats...

I love milk!

I love milk the only problem is I am lactose intolerant. It's kind of a tragic story. But over the last few years I have adjusted to either drinking soy milk or lactose free milk or even buying those little milk pills (that I always forget to take when I eat any dairy products). But allow me to tell you a story, I don't like soy milk, the plain stuff is gross, so you get the vanilla but it's still not that good. So I have come to love lactose free milk, it's so yummy it's even slightly sweeter than regular milk. Well this last weekend Derek came into town and he also likes his milk (he prefers whole milk but as long as it is milk he likes it.) So I figured instead of buying two seperate cartons it would be cheaper to buy a carton of regular 2% and I would just take a pill. Well this morning as I was eating my yummy bowl of honey bunches of oates, and I realized how much I miss my lactose free milk! It was so tragic! As I continued to eat my yummy cereal, I thought wow this is nowhere near as good as my lactose free milk. And now I am stuck with a half a carton of regular carton of milk!

Things are going to work out.
So I have been stressed out a lot lately that things aren't going to work out, but they are and they have been. I got my dress (that they said shouldn't be in until May came in in March),I took it in to get it fitted and I should be getting it back on Friday. My invites have been designed and let me tell you they look adorable, so now we are waiting for my way awesome cousin to get the back to me. The decorations are slowly coming along, I have some of the greatest friends taking care of that for me. We are slowly figuring out food, that is something I really don't care too much about so Derek is on that committee, all I care about is that it looks good. And our honeymoon is planned. Man things are just going to work out! We even have a place to live for our first three months and then we are trying to find a place for during the school year, but we have plenty of time. The only thing that needs to workout is finding me a place to live when I get back. It's been over five years since I have lived with my mom, I could always live with my Nana, or in the Corona's condo, or Derek tells me I can live with his mama. She lives in Casa Grande, that is not an option. hahaha Anyway, I had to post this to dispel all my concerns and hopefully I will feel better soon about this living situation. Maybe I will just live in a box.

Hair and Cakes.
So I absolutely love hair, it's not just a recent development. But I have probably loved hair since my freshman year in high school, back when my hair was spikey and blonde. (talk about a long time ago and some crazy hair). Anyway, I love hair so much I am actually going to go to hair school. I am real excited about this! So excited that my roommates have let me practice on them a few times.
But the recent development is in my love for cakes. It is a pure talent, today I ran past this absolutely beautiful cake. And I decided that I want to do cake classes when I finish hair school and do cakes out of our home. I know kind of crazy! But I think it would be a blast! And I totally think I could do it. One of my companions on the mission actually let me help her make a super cool cake for an investigator's baptism and it looked amazing and it was a ton of fun. And hair and cakes is something I could do from the comfort of my own home and I can be able to take care of my family first.

Colors anyone?
I have always wanted to go to the Holi: Festival of Colors, but I have never had anyone to go with. Well this year I was ever so blessed. I got to go and had a blast! Talk about people chucking colored chalk at you, and just having fun. I was completely cultured. Here are some pictures of our fun event.

Let's try this again...
Okay I feel horrible! But when I originally got my engagements taken, I was super sick. I could see it in my face and I just wasn't super happy with how I looked. I wasn't disappointed in my photographers, they did a wonderful job. I just didn't love how I looked. So we got them retaken, sorry Ness and Kimber. But you should check these out, Remember Me, by Roxxi.
Cheap Eats
So Derek and I absolutely love food! He probably loves food more than I do, but yea food is good. So I figured I would do a review on one of our new favorite restaurants, Chino Bandido. Chino's is an amazing fusion of Chinese and Mexican. After a fun filled day of getting my wedding dress and fun little shoot with Roxxi, Derek volunteered to take me to dinner, so he took me to Chino's. I am not going to lie I was quite apprehensive, c'mon you got Chinese and Mexican in one resturant, of course you are going to be nervous. But we went in and this young guy gave us samples and walked us through how to order. The prices were really good, and I am not going to lie, it was amazing. I absolutely loved it! It was such a fusion of goodness. I highly recommend Chino Bandidio. Click on the link there is one located in Chandler and in Phoenix.

Wow, I mean WOW!
Derek always tells me that and when he says it I know something good has happened. Well, something pretty amazing has happened I got my wedding dress this weekend, and how do I put this, wow, I mean wow! I never tried my dress on before this weekend but it was perfect I mean it was everything I could ever dream of, everything I could ever want. I love it! And I feel so beautiful and so skinny! And I would love to post pictures, but #1 I want everyone to be oh so excited when they see my amazing wedding pictures and #2 Derek checks my blog and he isn't allowed to see it. We'll he's seen it just not on me, two totally different things.

humph....
Well, wedding plans are... well... coming along. I guess. I don't know what I am doing about bridesmaid dresses or if i am even going to keep them right now. My invites aren't even done, I have to reorganize my addresses, I have no idea how to decorate the stake center gym, or what we are going to feed people. On the bright side I get to try my dress on for the first time this weekend. We do have the temple scheduled, we have our honeymoon scheduled and hotels booked. And well, my fiance is just amazing!! And well, he is quite the hottie!

Oh my heck am I talented!!
So Derek and I have a lot of guests coming in from out of town, and so I decided we should make a map!! Oh my I am so stinking talented, I did some research and to have a map done for you it is like 50 bucks not including printing, that is just to design it!! So I found this way cool map designer, and it shows you how to make a map. So I did it, and I even compared it to some pretty amazing ones, and I wish I could show you the finished product but I don't know how. But I think I might do my own little wedding planning business when I am done. I am getting quite good at all of this!

Scary!!
So, when I bought my dress they told me it wouldn't be here till March. Totally fine since my wedding isn't till May, but I called them today to see when it will be in and the girl said they wont have it in until MAY!! Early May but nonetheless, I haven't even tried on the dress!! Will it even look right? Oh I am so nervous!! She said they would call me if it came in earlier but that isn't for sure!! If you didn't notice I am a little stressed about this!

25 errr... maybe not
Ok so Number 1 I have a job interview on Monday, Pray for me.
So Numero dos, everyone keeps doing the 25 things on FB and frankly I decided when I first saw it happening that I refuse to do it. But lately I have been thinking about if I did do the 25 things I would list about me if I was to do it, and I don't think I could come up with 25 but just for fun I am gonna list a few just so I feel accomplished.
1. I workout so I can eat crap, not so I can get skinny
2. I secretly want to be a forensic anthropoligist (I guess it's not a secret anymore) but ten more years of school just does not seem like reality. Just cause Derek is going to do it, does not mean I need to.
3. I really really want to just elope, trust me it is the smarter thing to do and not for sex or temptation but because planning is just way to stressful.
4. I hate hate initiating the conversation. I automatically assume all people hate me until they introduce themselves. Because of this do people think I am snobby, but in reality I am just shy.
5. When I first meet a person I first look into their eyes and then at their teeth.
6. I love to cook, but hate to do the dishes, and hate waiting to eat, so I don't do it that often.
7. I love to eat funfetti frosting straight out of the can, by the spoonfuls
And well ladies and gents, that is about all my list consists of but I like to think that it is a pretty good list if I say so myself. And I still refuse to respond to any of those tags on FB, so if you tag me I will not do a list. End of story.

Serendipity 3

I know this sounds crazy, mostly cause I am in Utah and I am freezing. But I have been doing some research about Serendipity 3, the restaurant in NYC that is famous A: for the movie Serendipity and B: for their Frrrozen Hot Chocolates. Well, I looked up the recipe for Frrrozen Hot Chocolates and you can make them at home and they taste amazing!! I made my first successful one tonight at it makes me even more so excited to venture to NYC with my Honey! So here is the fabulous website from the amazing Paula Dean, oh I can't tell you how much I love Paula Dean! This is one recipe where I don't think I am going to gain a thousand pounds after eating it.
