We celebrated Derek's birthday last night and it was such a blast. We had some old and some new friends, we played rockband some even sang karaoke, we played some corn holes (glorified bean bag toss). And most importantly I made a cake, I think some of my skills are improving and some still need improving but that is why we practice. So this is the original image I used

My first giveaway and a call for help
Do you remember these?
If not, allow me to explain. They are called cake balls or pops or truffles. The taste absolutely divine they are cake that is baked crumbled and then combined with cream cheese and then dipped in candy chocolate. Well, I made them for a wedding last week 200 to be exact actually I had a handful of leftovers so I shared them with two of the most important women in mine and Derek's lives. I know it totally sounds like we gave them to our moms, but alas it was our stylist and our pop shop girl Chelsea. Who would have thought that giving them to the pop shop girl would have been one of the best things I could have done for myself. Derek and I stopped by last week and she wasn't in, so I left them with someone else at the shop who gave them to her. And I stopped in today to pick up two pops for dinner and our favorite girl Chelsea was there, she raved about how good they tasted and how she had shared them with the "boss man" and how he wants to contract me to either sell them in one of his other stores or even in the pop shop if I couldn't handle that much business! I just need to figure out packaging. And how am I to figure out packaging if I don't have a name. So this is where ya'll come in, help me come up with a name. I love two words that I would really like in a name, either sweets or cakery you can come up with anything else. If you help me to decide on a name I will make and share some sweets with you! (I will even ship if you live outside of the valley) So hop to it!

tragedy
So I went finished my first cake in my course 3 wilton class and it was very awesome, complete with fondant and a pink bow. And then I sent it with Derek to work and realized at noon that I had not taken a picture so I texted derek to take one and alas he texted me and said that they had already eaten it. But everyone did think it tasted delish so I feel a little better.
Sleeping Beauty
Derek and I saw The Sleeping Beauty Ballet yesterday and I absolutely love it. Derek enjoyed it also, he was slightly disappointed that there were no dragons for the prince to battle. But all in all it was a wonderful performance. I just have a letter to write to a few of the ballet goers.
Dearest Ballet goers,
I truly enjoy your company at the ballet, everytime I go you are there but I do have some issues with how things work. When you go to the ballet please don't bring your three year old that talks the enrtire time and cries because they can't see or because it is dark. If you are sick, don't come. I don't pay 80 dollars to hear you cough over the orchestra. I remember when people would dress up to go to the ballet, they would dress to the nines and now people attend in jeans, grubby shoes and tank tops. I'm not saying wear your prom dress and tuxedos but wear a skirt and some nice dress slacks. And last but not least, please wait till the end of the piece to applaud not the end of the movement. May you continue to enjoy the ballet.
Sincerly,
Dom
