Holden is quite the little fish. From birth this little kiddo has loved the water, he loves bath time and we have had him in swim "classes" since he was 3 months. Don't you love his little speedo! I had totally forgot to buy him a swimsuit before his first class but the school offers reusable swim diapers that double as a suit so we just picked on up there. I am pretty impressed with them. And he looks like the cutest lil european model ever.
He was checking himself out in the mirror while resting up against the side.
Floating has been another necessary part of class and he is pretty good at it.
For Memorial Day we were invited by Mama and Papa wood to go to Lake Roosevelt. I was a little apprehensive about going, mostly because I wasn't sure how Holden would do there. But he did FANTASTIC! He did only take one nap while we were on the boat. And since he is under the age of 12 he is required to wear a life jacket, they just don't make them small enough he was not very happy that his hands couldn't reach his mouth but he did look pretty darn cute in it!
We even put his feet in the water (I forgot to get pictures) but he loved it he kept splashing and playing in it, I think when the water warms up more we'll actually let him get fully in the water.
I tried to wakeboard but since I was still healing from my car accident I couldn't get up. But Derek on the other hand did a fantastic job. Someday I will convince that man that we need a small boat. At least for now we have Mama and Papa to take us out!

Hodge Podge

My blog has truly become a hodgepodge of things going on in the house of Glazier. This blog started as I was getting married to Husband and going through all the planning, then I would update on occasion. I tried to post about our not so exciting lives, I did a pretty good job posting about my pregnancy, I even do a good job posting about Holden, I've even started to post my weekly recipes (that's mostly to help me lol). Well, as many of you know and don't know we recently moved from being in the most perfect area of town, we were near everything, all the shopping centers, all the restaurants, and many parks and even many of our friends. Scottsdale really was the "Most Liveable City". We finally packed our bags and moved across town to one of the how do I put this... lower ends of the east valley, Apache Junction. Don't get me wrong it's not too shabby, shady maybe but not shabby. This house really will be an adventure, there is so much we can do to fix it up and feel like home and so I figure I will add that to my Hodge podge blog, the adventures of making my house a Home. I guess I should show you the before and blog as I go through project after project. Our first project has been purchasing furniture. We've never had to purchase furniture seeing as our first home was fully furnished. I purchased almost everything off craigslist, keeping in mind I plan on updating. Derek and I have decided to start from the front rooms and work our way back so these are my current projects.

This is my living room. I have been wanting these couches for ages, the are the IKEA ektorp style. I am hoping that later on I can purchase the gray covers. I am also needing to get some sort of curtains and replace the blinds and spray painting the ceiling fan.
You can see where the living room meets the "dining area". Do you see the cool box atop the plastic bin? We are trying to maximize style with usefulness, I still need to buy one more but the top one is from rubbermaid it has a tray that goes atop it. All of Husbands "office supplies" go in there since he no longer has a desk and then the lower one will have all his video game controllers etc. so not only will he have a place to put stuff but it will double as a end table.
Hallway wall, I would like to do some sort of gallery wall here, that's about all I envision here.
And here is my "entertainment center" I plan on painting the console white and also painting the front door. Still need to do some more deciding here.
This is my dining area, I made the chalkboard when I was pregnant with Holden so that I could document my pregnancy now it is my quote board in the kitchen. You can see my kitchen table and chairs another Craigslist find, I wanted something a little different but this will definitely work. They are black and brown, and they weigh the space down, so painting the set is my first project. I've already started on the chairs, they will be white and the table will be a pretty butter yellow. I need to paint the door leading to the garage and add curtains, I would also like to paint the kitchen cabinets but can't decide on a color.
Here is my lil kitchen, it's small but much more counter space then our condo. I've utilized the space on top of the cabinets with food storage, it's a huge eye sore so I might be moving it back to under our bed. Other than moving the food and painting the cabinets I am kind of at a loss for ideas here too...
One night while husband was working I mocked up some ideas, I am not a huge fan of the patterns I found but here are some color boards to get me started and help me and husband see the vision. I will be updating these as I go. I really like the idea of a light gray walls I've been playing lots with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer, and have found a few grays I really like. If you haven't tried it out I highly recommend it.
And here is my pretty kitchen color scheme, I am trying to use similar colors in both rooms the only difference is the living rooms blue and yellow are a tad bit lighter and there is orange instead of red... we'll see if it works. I absolutely love cake stands I almost have an obsession, and I don't have a red one I think it will really combine the colors in one spot. My cousin always has a cake stand with a dome on her counter for any goodies she's made so I really like that idea. Another obsession is cloth napkins, I feel like they are always so pretty and add a lightness to the table along with another texture.
Well, I've given you the tour hopefully I can keep updated and documented to show you what's happening in the Glazier Casa.
